revani / ρεβανί (re-vah-KNEE)
A sponge cake made with semolina and saturated in a syrup mixture usually flavored with citrus. As with all Greek desserts, it’s exceedingly sweet and served with a large glass of cold water.
tzatziki / τζατζίκι (tzah-TZEE-key)
A creamy cucumber-yogurt dip/spread made with garlic and dill or mint. The best is made with thick Greek yogurt, but strained plain yogurt can be substituted. Can be served alone with bread or pita or as a spread on sandwiches, gyros, or as a sauce for french fries.
